The TT-02R is certainly the most sensible way to enter the TT-02 racing class. The car offers everything you really need in terms of tuning. Anything beyond that is nice to have, but not necessary.
This improved version of the TT-02 chassis includes a wealth of tuning parts and some new parts to make it race-ready.
The included racing parts improve the suspension, engine mounts, drive shafts, differential outputs, etc. The suspension includes metal parts and CVA oil dampers. The versatility and easy handling of the TT-02 are maintained.
Included tuning parts:
Newly developed rear axle supports made of aluminum with 3 degrees toe-in
Aluminum engine mount
53159 4mm Aluminum Flange Lock Nut (Blue)
53642 5mmAluminum Ball Connector (Blue)
54247 3x18mm Aluminum Turnbuckle Shaft (Blue) x2
54500 TT-02 High Speed Gear Set (68T)
54501 TT-02 Aluminum Propeller Shaft
54502 TT-02 Aluminum Propeller Joint
TT-02S, TT-02R, TT-02SR or TT-02RR - which is the better choice?
In our opinion, the R offers better value for money. If you're just driving for fun, you should go for the R because of the tuning parts included with the R (oil pressure damper, ball bearings, aluminum motor mount, aluminum shaft, aluminum rear wheel carrier, aluminum main gear holder/speed gearbox). The performance offered is sensationally good for the price!
The RR (no longer available) offers even more control over the setup. If you can handle that, you should go for the RR. If you're not familiar with camber and oil viscosity, you should stick with the R to avoid getting bogged down.
However, the S offers better performance than the R on many routes.
However, the S is more expensive, and there are many things you can do wrong during setup. THEN the R has the advantage again—because it's technically very easy to handle.
With the S you also have to expect to have to invest money in tuning parts in order to be able to use it effectively in racing (aluminum shaft, aluminum drive for the shaft, aluminum motor mount, aluminum main gear holder).
Retrofitting the S's suspension to the R is technically possible without any problems, but not financially attractive.
The SR is the combination of the S and the RR, and its features are unparalleled. The long wishbones of the touring car suspension, combined with the lockable cone differential and the spool on the front axle, are a revelation in terms of driving dynamics on the TT. However, some fundamentally important components are missing (aluminum shaft, aluminum drive shaft, aluminum motor mount, aluminum main gear mount) – so the car definitely needs some tuning.
Professional? => TT-02SR with tuning parts from the R
Amateur? => TT-02SR
Beginners? => TT-02R
The kit comes without a body and without electronics. Wheels are included.
